Two Plays by Chekov

Dublin Shakespeare Society will present two short one act radio plays by Chekhov at 7.30pm, Saturday 27 April.

 

In “Smoking is bad for you”, the hen-pecked Ivan Ivanovich Nyukin has been persuaded to deliver a public lecture by his wife. He doesn’t manage to stay on the topic…

Nyukin is played by Padraig Denihan

In “The Proposal”, Ivan Vassilevitch Lomov visits his neighbour Stepan Stepanovitch Chubukov with the intention of proposing marriage to his daughter Natalya. The event doesn’t turn out to be as romantic as might be expected.
